    This has been one of the best vacations that we have had in TN. Wonderful cabin (Deer Lodge) that fit us, our 4 kids, wife's parents and my parents all comfortably and with privacy for all. Peggy is great at checking in and getting you set up and ready to arrive. It was quiet and warm. Really enjoyed not having the tourist crowds around. Really close to Cade's Cove, a tradition for us every year.

  • Review of "Cades Cove Information Kiosk" at Townsend

    Bike the loop, don't ride in a car - you'll be able to see much more and go at your own pace on a bike. *The loop is closed to cars on Saturday mornings until 10am. I started at 8am and finished at 10:30am (stopped several times to rest/take pictures)* Come prepared to put in some work on that bike!! Some of the grades are steep. Don't be afraid to walk your bike up. There's a bike rental area for a decent price if you don't own a bike. It's a beautiful trail - you'll probably see some wildlife too.

    Really nice place right on the little river. Great location, everything worked and it was spotless...however, the hot tub/jacuzzi water level was noticeably low where the upper jets didn't have any effect. While this was disappointing, I can't be too upset as we didn't come to the mountains to spend all of our time inside in a hot tub. Overall nice experience and we will be back.

  • Review of "Cades Cove Riding Stables" at Townsend

    I love this place. The trail is about one hour, give or take, through Cades Cove. It is a mountain trail, but it is a beginners trail. Kids six and up can ride horseback. Any age can ride in the carriage. The carriage is about 30ish minutes. They offer rides as well. The horseback is 30 dollars plus tax and the guides work for tips. You can pay with a card, but you cannot put the tip on the card. The park service won't allow atms in the park, so bring cash for the guides. If memory serves, the carriage is about 12 a person plus a tip for the guide. I would absolutely recommend this riding stable to anyone.
